Since the day after Mothers day it has been rough around here.  We woke to Daisy being very sick this past Monday.  She had bloody diarrhea, and the blood was every where.  With her being only 5 pounds, my heart about stopped.  We immediately ran her to the vet.  To my dismay the vet had informed us that he had been getting about 6 cases a day for the past week of this very problem.  He checked her stool, gave her an antibiotic shot, some anti diarrhea medicine, special food, and off we went.

By noon we were back in his office.  With these small breeds, this is how fast things can go down hill.  He put her on IV and kept her for the day, allowing us to pick her up late that evening with her IV still on so that she could be home.  Early the next morning she started having seizures.  We took back to her vet and he medicated her for that symptom and kept her over night.

She is our baby and we were just worried sick about her. It is so hard to have a sick pet, and be worried about losing them or not.  I found some prayer lists that I added her to and also spent some time praying for others who were asking for help also.

Today, Thursday, she is home, alert, walking, no more seizures, drinking, and getting back to her old self.  She is still not eating but I see hope here.  Thank God!    So forgive everyone for being out of mission for a few days.  My priority was getting Daisy back on her feet, and it still is top of the list.  I know some people may think "well, she has so many pets, how can she be so upset of this one?"  Simply put, it is because they are all a part of our family!  Daisy was our first, and also how our addiction to these tiny beauties began, but not one is less important than the other.

As for what caused all of this?  We just do not know.  I have crawled through the house looking for anything she may have gotten into, I can not for the life of me figure it out.  We did find some toad stools out back and dug up the ground around them, and threw it all away, but she has never taken an interest in them.  I also discovered that sugarless gum is piousness from our vet, I check my purse, but all was fine there too.  By the way...stay away from all artificial sweeteners when it comes to your dog!!  We just do not have an explanation on why she ended up sick, but we count our blessings that non of the others have gotten whatever it may be, and we are praying that Daisy stays on the uphill swing of getting better.

Please keep her in your thoughts, and thank you so much to my readers.

Doggie hugs and kisses to everyone;
