Does it really matter what shampoo you use?

You betcha. There are so many dog shampoos out there on the market, and I don't see the need to spend a lot of money on them.  We can usually purchase the types of dog shampoos we use right at Wal-Mart.  Below is what we do.

  1. For our apricot or red dogs we just use baby shampoo.
  2. For our black or dark silver poodles we will use a blackening shampoo, it doesn't make them   darker, but it does help with fading.
  3. For our White poodle, or our dogs that have more than half of the white color on them, we definitely use a whitening shampoo and boy does it make a difference!
  4. For our dog with some allergies we either use the dog oatmeal shampoo, which smells great or we will also use the baby shampoo if we don't have the oatmeal shampoo on hand.

All of these dog shampoos can be purchased right at a local Wal-mart.  I'm sure a professional groomer can give more details or may have different opinions than mine, but we do currently have 11 house dogs, so we've been down the road of experience and the above is what we have found to work the best and is most cost efficient.

To your success;
