Barking Collars

I know many may not agree with the use of shock collars and I am perfectly fine with that.  I personally just recently discovered step shocks and have started using them with a follow up of the ultra sonic collars and love it!

What do I mean by the "step shocks"?  These are collars that can be used on any size dog, and with ours being very tiny that was of utmost importance.  How these shock collars work is that  when your dog barks it will imminent a sound giving your dogs 30 seconds to correct itself, if the dog barks again within 30 seconds then it does a very light shock and vibrate.  There is no pain, it simply irritates the dog and gets it's attention.  Then if the barking continues every 30 seconds the shock will get a bit stronger until they stop.  Then the process starts over.  The golden key here, for us anyways, is the sound the collar makes before taking the next step.  The reason being is that after about 3 days of the shock collar, we then put on the ultrasound collar which has a setting to be able to change it to an audible sound.  Once we set it on the audible sound, when the dog barks, it stops once it here's the noise because it thinks it still has the other collar on.

Now your probably wondering why we even have these, since a dogs barking is very natural and should be aloud...to a point.  For one we live in town, with neighbors right on top of us and when you have nine dogs, you really need to keep your neighbors happy.  For two, they were just getting out of hand.  If someone farted, one would bark, then the other eight would follow.  We live in our house with our dogs, not at a pound, so it should not sound as such, and lets face it, the noise level could be deafening!  Now all can live happily with some limited control.

If you are thinking of this idea, please be sure to get the correct collars.  Some do not make the noise, and are for bigger dogs.  You want one that is a "step up" so to speak.  Then make sure you follow through with the ultrasonic collars that you can set to an audible noise.  Some don't have this option and are only ultra sound (which, how do you know if they are really working...I have no idea.)

Good luck & keep your neighbors happy!

What a great idea, I've tried the spraying collars and the ultra sonic and both were a total joke. I'm going to try this way and then the ulta sonic to see if it works. My Ultra sonic collar has a tone also. My dog is just a barker, it can be a bug or anything that only she sees, so I hope to get this taken care of.
Thanks
