Here is a very interesting article that I found regarding Denver, Colorado starting a new airline for dogs and cats. I'm not sure how I feel about that. We don't ship any of our puppies, but I know that many people do and perhaps this will be a great alternative for them. Perhaps it will help with some of the terrible issues that surround shipping dogs and cats in the cargo hold. I certainly hope so and I think it is the step in the right direction.
DENVER, Colorado ? A new airline for dogs and cats is coming to Colorado.
Pet Airways will offer flights across the country starting Tuesday, including Rocky Mountain Airport in Broomfield for dogs and cats.
Pets will travel in their own carriers in the main cabin of the planes, not in the cargo hold as with most airlines, but owners aren't allowed onboard and must fly separately.
The company says pet attendants will care for the animals in flight, but to prevent pets from gettingsick, there won't be any beverage or snack service.
The airline will also fly to Chicago, Baltimore/Washington International, Los Angeles and New York.
One-way fares for Chicago to Los Angeles starts at $199. Tickets from Los Angeles to New York start at $299.
